Weekly update ahead of Sun 1st Oct

This Sunday, 1st October the following squad will play in the Cobham A Festival. We wish them all luck. It's a long day and a tough knockout competition.

Adam

Angus

Ben E

Blake

Cameron

Connor McC

Elliott P

Harry

James

Jonathan

Josh

Sam

The rest of us will train as usual back at Camberley RFC.

The Camberley festival on the 15th October

We are going to need people to help out with the following:

- 3 pitch marshalls whose job it is to track which matches have been played on their pitch and keep the scores on a sheet.

- 2 touch judges to run the line and raise a flag if anyone steps on or over it

- 2 people to help with car parking at the start of the festival (approx 9am til just after 10)

- 1 person to monitor littering (visions of Parkie from the early issues of Viz spring to mind) and make sure someone picks up the black bin liners at the end of the day

General Admin

I have most membership and medical forms in now, but would be grateful if anyone who has not already done so could get them into me before the Camberley Festival so that we can play as many players as possible.

If you haven't previously completed an RFU membership form along with 2 photos (many of you did this last year), please grab a form from me at your earliest convenience. They are free, just need 2 passport sized photos.

For those of you who already submitted RFU forms, I am actively chasing details of exactly whose forms are in process to see if I can find any of ours. I'll let you know if I come up with anything .....

Communication

I will continue to update the voicemail every week. Always worth checking before you set off for an away match or if it's been raining/snowing/freezing heavily.

Instead, our illustrious webmaster aka Jon McClelland has created an easily accessible blog site that's also easy for us for keep up to date. There are some useful links for us as a squad on this site (eg. the fixture list, maps to clubs, etc) and, as Jon has pointed out before, if you click on the ad links and visit one of the sponsors it earns money that will go into the squad account so that's got to be a good thing. Stick this link in your favourites folder .....

Cheers.

Rob.
